Hi Reader,
Welcome to The Sunday Shift!
We often think of courage as grand, heroic gestures. But what about the quiet courage of starting over? Of saying "I was wrong"? Of trying again after disappointment?
Every day, courage shows up in small moments. When you speak up in a meeting, set a boundary, or take a step toward a dream that scares you.
Today, let's explore how everyday courage transforms ordinary lives into extraordinary ones.
⚡️ 1 Habit
Practice micro-courage daily.
This week, identify one small courageous act each day:
- Voice one idea you've been holding back.
- Have one conversation you've been avoiding.
- Take one tiny step toward a goal that intimidates you.
Why it works: Courage is like a muscle. It grows stronger with consistent, small challenges.
📖 1 Story
When courage looked like walking away.
A few years ago, I found myself in something that looked great on paper.
The title was impressive.
The work was steady.
The outside world would've called it a success.
But inside? It felt like I was shrinking.
I kept trying to make it work. Telling myself I should be grateful and that I’d invested too much to walk away. I tried to push through, prove myself, make it fit.
But deep down, I knew: Courage wasn’t staying. Courage was letting go.
So I walked away.
Without a full plan. Without external applause. Without knowing what would come next.
And you know what? It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made.
Not because I didn’t know it was right. It was definitely right. But because beginning again meant trusting myself more than I trusted the opinions or expectations of others.
That decision became a defining moment of self-leadership.
I didn’t have it all figured out, but I sure was willing to try. Starting from truth, not from fear.
🎯 1 Focus
Notice your courage patterns.
This week, pay attention to:
- Where do you naturally show courage?
- Where do you hold back out of fear?
- What would one small courageous step look like in that area?
Remember: Courage isn't the absence of fear—it's moving forward despite it.
Hit reply and let me know. I’d love to hear (and I promise, I’m listening).
See you next Sunday.
